About the Talk:

This session will provide practical tips with some discussion on recent developments in audits and case law related to creation and maintenance of family limited partnerships.

Topics addressed will include:

• Determining when it is not feasible to create a partnership

• Optimizing partnership defense to avoid IRS attacks

• Advising clients on proper entity operation

Speaker bio:

Ms. Stephanie Loomis-Price is a shareholder in Winstead's Wealth Perservation Practice Group. Stephanie handles federal gift and estate tax litigation against the Internal Revenue Service across the country, as well as state fiduciary and probate controversy work in Texas courts. She also counsels clients regarding complex estate administration.  Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law, Stephanie is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where she serves on the Business Planning Committee and the Program Committee. Active in the professional legal community, Stephanie currently serves on Council for the Real Property, Trusts and Estates Law Section of the American Bar Association, as well as Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the same organization.

She is a frequent speaker across the country, speaking in the past year at many of the premier estate planning conferences. Stephanie as been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America publication and as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly. She is a past recipient of the Excellence in Writing Award by Probate & Property and the Judge Thomas Gibbs Gee Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service.
