Everyone at all levels should attend who work in business valuation as it relates to estate planning.\n \n \n \nSpeaker Bio: Pat Cooney is the Vice President and co-founder of Capital Advisors, Inc., an independent business valuation and consulting firm formed in 1996.  Mr. Cooney has been engaged in the valuation of closely-held business interests since 1994.  He is a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers and is accredited in Business Valuation, and he is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.  Before starting Capital Advisors, Inc., he worked at Commerce Bank as a Management Trainee and then as a business valuation analyst in Commerce’s Investment Management Group.  Mr. Cooney’s appraisals are used for a variety of purposes, including: gift, estate and income tax reporting; shareholder disputes; purchase/sale; marital dissolution; Employee Stock Ownership Plans; and many other purposes.  He has valued interests in thousands of closely-held entities over his career.  He has assisted in the purchase and sale of business interests, and has defended his reports before various third parties, including the Internal Revenue Service and various courts of law. \n
