About the Program

Olympic Gold and Bronze Medalist from the 1976 Olympics, Wendy Boglioli, reviews the importance of long term care planning and how it personally impacted her family.  Her discussion will review the most common situations in which long term care planning is needed and the actions all professional advisors should be taking to ensure every client has a plan to address this essential planning need.

About the Speaker

As a National LTC Spokesperson, Wendy Boglioli was one of the most successful and requested long term care specialists in the country. She was among the very first to recognize the unique role that women play and her message empowered financial advisors to assist female clients in proactively planning for their futures. Her message targets the young and young-at-heart alike. Wendy has also advocated on Capitol Hill and Washington State’s legislature for long term care awareness and policy.

Wendy’s team won the only gold medal in the women’s swimming events in the 1976 Olympics. In doing so they beat the heavily favored, and systemically-doped East German team. Wendy’s relay race is still one of the most notable in Olympic history. Before the Olympics, Wendy’s father had become ill. After the Olympics, Wendy’s father’s situation worsened, so Wendy began helping her family research nursing homes to prepare for her father‘s future needs. What Wendy found, among other things, was that the majority of the people in the homes were women – and that their savings had been depleted. Many had spent their lives caring for their loved ones, but now, in their time of need, there was no one available to care for them. And, for most of them, the cost of in-home care was prohibitive. Wendy immediately began educating families and businesses about the importance of planning for long-term care.

Without proper planning, from Life Insurance to Health Care Insurance, Disability Insurance & Long-term Care Insurance, Power of Attorney for Health and Finance, one leaves enormous decisions for loved ones to make, and far too often on the fly. Wendy’s goal in every presentation regardless of the audience, men, women, mixed, is that proper planning is essential.
