About the presentation: This program will draw upon the experiences of corporate and professional Trustees to offer insight into designing and carrying out more effective Trust Administrations to fulfill the purposes of estate planning clients.

About the Speakers

Michael Foster, CTFA, AEP® Moderator Senior VP, Commerce Bank

Carolyn Ohlsen Managing Partner, Lowenhaupt & Chasnoff, LLC

Carolyn’s practice involves advising individuals and families of varying resources on all phases of estate, trust and entity planning to suit their unique objectives.  Carolyn has a particular concern for legacy development and carrying out a client’s purposes through effective administration.  The firm also works with advisors and family offices to help clients build a stable and straightforward platform for wealth management and transmission, strategic philanthropy and governance. 

Carolyn has had a special interest in the business of trust administration since attaining her MBA in 1992.  She has been a speaker on trust administration topics since 2004 and has served as Trustee of private trusts since 2006.  Carolyn attended the Leadership Center for Investment Stewards, then held in New London, Connecticut, in 2012, obtaining a Certificate in Fiduciary Governance.  She is a full member of STEP and received the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designation from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils, in 2007. 

Currently, Carolyn is retained by more than 200 trusts to advise the Trustees with respect to the performance of their fiduciary duties.  She also serves as a Trustee of 21 private trusts and as a Director, with similar fiduciary responsibilities, of 4 holding companies and a private foundation. 

She is a 1991 graduate, cum laude, from the St. Louis University School of Law
